Guns confiscated from show in Liberty

LIBERTY - A man mishandling three guns while trying to enter a gun show Sunday caught the attention of police, who now are trying to determine who owns the weapons.

According to a police report, a man was entering the gun show at the Liberty Plaza around 12:30 p.m. and drew the attention of officers because he was holding all three guns near his chest and they were "clanging about." The officer wrote that the guns were in good condition and it is "unusual for any gun owner to allow his firearms to be handled in a manner which could damage them."

After making eye contact with the officer, the man tried to exit the gun show, but was blocked by a crowd of people in the vestibule, the report states. The man then paid the admission fee and went to the area where officers were securing firearms.

While securing a firearm for another patron, the officer was pulled aside by a man, who told him the man in question retrieved the three long guns from a "trunk full of guns," and the vehicle fled the scene. He told officers it "didn't look right" and wanted officers to be aware.

Portland Maine is a cool city about an hour from me. Portland Oregon I know nothing about and is 3000 miles from me. I'm tired of having to research whether something is a distant nightmare or a problem in my backyard.

7. So according to the article

It was another patron of the show who brought the suspicious activity to the officer's attention.

According to typical narrative everyone at the show should have been trying to buy the guns, not reporting suspicious activity.
