3. Ember used to do battle

with those flaky pieces of the sky when they slammed against the window. She got so obsessed with catching them through the window glass that I had to put on cat videos to distract her.

This year, a couple days ago, she ignored them completely. At 6 years old, I think she considers herself older and wiser, too mature to consider them worth pursuing. She'd rather play crinkle ball soccer with me.
