Keeping my sinuses cleared

I have been one of the hosts of this group since the group decided to have hosts.

In that time, I have tried to respond to each thread about a new pet. Those make me smile.

I have tried even harder to respond to each thread about a pet lost. Those don't make me smile. But they *do* make tears flow. Every one of them.

A pet's love is as close to purely unconditional as I can imagine unconditional love to be. While they don't have speech, they sure do have the ability to communicate with us. They are, indeed, our best friends.

It sure hurts to lose them.

And my sinuses get really clear after reading your stories about the one's you've lost.

I am so grateful to all of you for sharing. There can't possibly be another DU group that is about unconditional love.

The people here are the most caring and loving folks, and I love seeing every post. I dread hearing of the passing of a pet, but I am so glad that we are all here for each other. There is something special about that.

That just cleared my sinuses up for the next few days.

I'm just like you in that I freely weep at all the sad stories shared and am genuinely anxious to know the outcome of a sick pet or a lost pet and have lost sleep with worry for someone else's pet. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Even among all the sadness and despair that flows through this group it flows with incredible love and caring.

And I also just love the sharing of the joy of a new pet or an old pet's silly antics especially all the photos shared and the obvious caring and love people here have for their pets that you can clearly see on their faces in the pictures and their owners words in sharing them here. I've laughed, I've cried, I've chewed my nails with anxiety over a crisis with someone else's pet, and at times have wondered why in the world I put myself through all this, but it's exactly what I love so much about this group.

And here I go clearing out my sinuses again. I never seem to lack for snot here.
