I spilled some cottage cheese and my dog snarfed it up.

Fell right out of the grocery snack and broke open. He ate about a cup of it - seemed to really like it. I can't imagine it would do him any harm.

1. No, cottage cheese is actually good for dogs (and cats) especially if they have an upset

stomach or the runs. You simply created nutrition out of an accident. Good on you.

2. We were instructed to add it to our nursing mama dog's food. She loved it!

3. Its high protein - so I'm making it a frequent snack for myself.

But I am happy to share the wealth with him.

8. We use to eat it as kids but as an adult I didn't and totally forgot about it.

I was reminded and here that last three or four months have kept it at work and when I get hungry, I have 4 or 5 bites and good to go for a couple hours. Trader Joes small curd the best I have found so far.

7. I just google the food item and dog. Pulls it up telling me if it is ok, or not.

What is interesting with my dog is when something falls and he has NO interest in it. I google and it says, not good for dogs. My dog is pretty good figuring it out himself. I am really kinda impressed. Good to know about the CC. I bet he had a real treat there. And you didn't have to clean up a mess.

9. Our dogs and cats all love cottage cheese and yogurt.

One cat especially. You can open the cat food storage container and she's a no-show. Pull a cup of yogurt out of the fridge and before you can peel off the cover she's rubbing your legs.
