Random stuff your pet does to drive you crazy?

My stubborn Lab/Chessie mix Jazz will not settle down unless I am the one who hooks her up outside to go potty. My husband can take her outside (no fenced in yard so we have a tie out for potty breaks) 3-4 times in the hour before he leaves for work or anytime really leaving the house. 10 min later without fail, Jazz comes to find me (usually sleeping in the early morning) and pants nonstop in my face until I get up and take her out.

Most of the time she doesn't do anything. She knocks to come back in, curls up on the couch or herds me back to bed and is out cold for a couple of hours. She is training our german shepherd to do the same.

She is so proud of how well she has trained me.

Edit: I was trying to post about the loss of our cat Scout and was quietly crying and reminiscing and her big head kept smacking me. I tried to explain to her to let me finish, that I was trying to say goodbye. She wasn't having it. And it had nothing to do with the fact I was sad ... she does this all time. I love her dearly - the way she just DGAF, that always makes me smile.

Andy and Charlie (brothers) 9 months old.
If you leave a roll of toilet paper unattended for 1 minute they will shred it just like a puppy. Seen them in action, they work together as a team. I even have to hide the TP package or they will attempt to shred the rolls under the plastic. We've had many cats over the years and none have done this! They're just too cute to get mad at.

Our cat was about 6 months old when he adopted us so we missed the true kitten stage. If we ever adopt another kitty I am not sure we could handle the squee factor of a little one - and you have 2!!

Especially when I stir in the morning, but before I get out of bed. He does that to try to get me out of bed to feed him.

Max cares about 2 things: dry food and canned food. What do you expect from a 20-pound cat?

Our cat would do this obnoxious thing of ripping up paper, carpet or anything crinkly to wake me up. He was so dramatic - like he was starving and all he had to eat was the newspaper.

Heh - I miss it now, but at 2am I sure as heck didn't

and chews the plastic wrappers I throw away. The more crinkly the plastic, the more he's drawn to it.

It annoys the living hell out of me!

She likes to sit on my chest and she has learned to stand and then suddenly flop over to the side so I'll catch her. From there on I cradle her and hold her like a newborn infant and she will sleep there aaaallll daaay looong if I let her. It's sweet and adorable unless I am holding a hot cup of coffee or tea, or need both hands for some reason.

Endearingly aggravating, she is. It's a wonder I get anything done.

She's nearly 20 now and I cherish every moment, she gets away with so much more than she used to.

Our pets are all seniors and holy cow do they get away with a lot more.

Cherish those moments! We just said goodbye to our 17 yr old cat, Scout and the memories of stuff like that keep me from crying constantly. When I get too sad, I remember how he clawed through the window screens in every window in the house we left open for fresh air. He was originally a stray so he wanted the freedom to roam, but living in a suburb is a lot different than when we were renting the house in the middle of farm country, so his roaming days were over. Both stories of the house - each window had a hole the size of his butt - just this round ass shaped hole. And then he couldn't get back in so he would knock at the door or just wait by it for us to come home.

Stuff like that makes me smile and laugh and realize all that stuff that drives me crazy is the best stuff ever!

So sweet.

I'm sorry for your loss we just lost one around Christmastime last year, the two were littermates. I understand how much it hurts. We've lost two others in the past as well (dogs) - it's bittersweet now, the way we remember them.

Always with us though.

go to the bathroom, but when I head to get his harness to go out I turn around and he's laying on his back for a belly rub, and refuses to go out. Then he does it again ... and again, until he finally can't hold it anymore and we go out. Frustrating.

My cat doesn't like visitors sitting with their feet right on the floor, he'll bite like an angry rottweiler. My dad used to have to sit and eat, or drink his coffee holding both feet up just a little the whole time. Hobo allowed that. Yet he follows me to where I sit and lays on the floor for me to rub him with mine.

Jazz sounds adorable.

She was a large dog (collie mix - no Great Pyrenees but big enough to mean business when she wanted something) and loved, loved having the spot on her rump where the tail meets the back scratched.

She would always back into us, shaking her ass so we could have the honor of scratching her there. Of course we complied, and the longer your fingernails, the more she loved you.

Well we were visiting my grandparents, and my grandpa (a quiet man, who grew up in era of dogs being outside and only recently converted to the idea that pets should be more spoiled than people) was sitting on the couch drinking coffee watching tv. Well here she comes, ass first to him and starts smacking her butt against his hand because he didn't get the hint right away.

We tried to call her away, but she wasn't having it. I remember my grandpa looking down at her and saying "what the heck?" and we explained the butt scratch...and he put his coffee mug down and scratched her back - her fluffy tail wagging away.

I love that your dog refuses to go out until you pay the fee of required belly rubs.. and your cat sounds awesome!

Some dogs just have no modesty at all. She sounds like she was a real character. Very cute.
