Found a GREAT solution to ground-in cat hair, lint, dander, and dirt on my carpets

I have four cats and, as you can imagine, the ground-in cat hair (and all the rest) were so bad, it actually changed the color of my carpet to an ugly grey. It happened so gradually that I didn't realize my regular vacuum just wasn't doing its job.

SO, after deciding I could not afford (nor did I want) new carpeting, I stumbled upon a reasonably priced vacuum cleaner that simply eradicates the build-up in seconds. I can't say enough good things about it-- it's actually fun to use.

Here's the link:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005KMDV9A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00

I haven't even started to use the different brush types that are included!!

Also, on this link there are 4352 customer reviews and 4.5 out of 5 stars

Cheers!!

1. I'm replying to myself but...

should this thread be under "Household Hints & Help?"

I'm new at posting here.

Thanks!

2. Thanks! Reasonably priced too

My husband (I cook, shop and do wash, he cleans) is always looking for a better vacuum. Down to 2 cats now but they still leave lots of fur especially Riley, a non-purebred Maine Coon type.

4. Yes, very reasonably priced!!

You will love it! The first time I vacuumed, I could not believe how much cat hair, lint, dander, etc. filled up the tank-- there were masses of everything!! But it's very easy to dispose of-- and no bags!

Good luck with that!!

3. Thanks!! I've been considering a shark...

I currently have a dyson and I'm just not that impressed. I luckily have hardwood floors with area rugs, but my dog hair gets EVERY WHERE and the tons of attachments with the shark are very appealing to me. Especially the lift away one that can go under the sofa, tables, etc. Loved seeing the review from a "real" person.

5. Honestly, as I told the other lady...

you will love it!!

As I mentioned, I haven't even begun to use the attachments-- any day now. It's like I'm almost saving
that for a treat!!! (BTW, no Stepford Wife I!!)

6. I've got one & I love it.

I live with 6 cats, 2 of them longhaired, and it really takes care of the hair on the floor and on furniture. It's an excellent value.

7. It really is!!

Awhile back I had googled for this type of vacuum and came across a blog in which someone wrote
something like, "You can get a fairly good vacuum for $1000" and I thought forget that! I wish I had
researched it a bit more but bottom line is that I found it and it's marvelous!!

8. I have one of these!

And wow, you are right, it really sucks up a lot of sh*t to say the least!

I've had mine for about 3 years now and it has been through hell and it still works.

I'd recommend it too (even though it is a bit heavy for me), esp. at less than $200!

10. I had two bad infestations last year

Last edited Thu Nov 5, 2015, 08:28 PM - Edit history (1)

One was of clothing moths and after that it was a heavy dose of fleas. I have 3 cats here and the only way to get rid of the damned fleas was to vacuum the house every single day for 3 mos. straight.

As for the moths, ditto and then some! I had this thing out in the garage vacuuming the garage to get rid of the moth larvae.

OMG was an awful mess it was and yes, you can wash it out and put it back together. I've replaced the HEPA filter on it once (about $25 I think it was) and have washed the foam thing many times and it is still intact even after the likes of boric acid, etc. etc. etc.

*Whew* am I ever glad I had this thing. Bought it at COSTCO for $125.00 on sale if my memory serves me right and like you, I couldn't believe what is sucked up including stands of my own hair when it was 2 ft. longer and still had no grey! YIKES!!! Made me feel like a pig after having sucked up about 3 tanks of stuff the first couple of times around.

Even when I use it now, I tend to get 1/2 tank of crap every time! Unbelievable indeed!!

P.S. ON edit: I know what you mean about new carpets. I need them too but ...
