Quick-Thinking Mama Dog Digs a Deep Hole to Protect Her Puppies from a Raging Forest Fire

A quick-thinking mama dog in Valparaiso, Chile dug a deep hole in the dirt and safely placed each of her precious puppies inside in order to protect them from a raging forest fire that hit the area and left thousands of people and animals homeless. According to KTLA 5 News, the puppies were found about a week later, completely unharmed.
A remarkable mother dog saved her nine puppies from burning alive in a forest fire in Chile by digging a deep hole and placing her babies inside where they were later found untouched by the flames.Rescue crews came across the puppies following a massive forest fire in Valparaiso last week. It took about an hour to lift all of the puppies out. They were reunited with their mother and are all expected to be OK.

Today is National Puppy Day, and according to www.nationalpuppyday.com, “it’s a day to help save orphaned puppies across the globe.”
We know one mom who did her part to save puppies.
A massive forest fire forced more than 4,000 people to evacuate from their homes in the Chilean port cities of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar earlier this month.

People living near the area told rescue personnel they saw a black dog leading her puppies away from the flames. They told the rescuers that the dog dug a hole under a metal container and dropped the puppies inside.
Rescuers discovered the hole and removed the puppies one by one as news cameras captured the moment. (See video below.)
Mom, who was nicknamed Negrita (Blacky), was found safe in a nearby building.
One resident told Telemundo it was a miracle of God that the puppies and their mother were able to survive.
Negrita and her puppies are being cared for by volunteers, and local residents have been asking to adopt them.

A devoted mum saved her nine puppies from a raging forest in Chile by digging a hole for them to hide in.
The dog, who has now been nicknamed Blacky, desperately dug a hole to allow her week-old puppies to take shelter in and stay safe beneath a metal container.
Shocking footage shows the intense blaze that ripped through the forest as firefighters struggle to contain the fire near the city of Valparaiso.

A number of big-hearted locals have now come forward offering to adopt the puppies as well as their mother.
