(2,860 posts)Thanks Stinky! I love seeing stuff like this. So many dogs get branded as 'aggressive' at the shelter, and they are really just scared, not mean. They can smell the fear in those places. I sometimes do rescue transport and take dogs out of the shelter. Many are shaking with fear when I first meet them. All they need is a hug and a chance.

(11,243 posts)He was so scared he bit the vet tech. They recognized that he was temperamentally sound and that it was only his terror that caused him to act out. I adopted him and he was the sweetest, calmest dog ever. He accepted the new animals and babies we added to our household over the years without a hitch. He was so calm and reliable, I can't imagine how scared he must have been to bite someone. I had him for 14 years. So glad they gave him a second chance, it worked out really well.

(2,860 posts)Shelter dogs rock! Even if they don't know it yet. You just have to show them. Then they save you right back.
