Software for visualizing tree and landscaping placement?

Is there any kind of tool where I can use a picture of my house and yard (from street level) and move around various trees and shrubs to see what they'll look like?

1. Great question

Every year around this time my wife wonders the same as she plants her ever growing garden and we always lament that we havenít got around to planting trees because we canít quite figure where they should go and how they should look. And landscape garden people cost a fortune.

2. Most graphics programs wil do that.

Try Gimp, a good, free alternative to photoshop.

Or go old school, print out a photo of your house and plants you'd like to tinker with, cut out the plants and start exploring.
