Has anyone used a high speed drill with a diamond bit at home

Is the noise unbearable? Is it so loud that the neighbors complain. I was thinking of getting a high speed drill to make holes in pebbles, stones found at the beach, but I don't know if I would be able to get away with the noise because of my neighbors. I don't have a garage.

masonry bit would be more effective.

There is an annoying high pitched noise, so do it when most people are awake.

Ideally, a stand to turn it into a small drill press would be nice, and a small vise to keep the pebbles/stones stationary during drilling. Follow the drill bit maker's recommendations on speed and lubrication. Most important, wear eye protection.

Sound shouldn’t be a problem. You can’t watch tv and use it but... as long as you’re not working during “normal” hours you should be fine.
