(50,130 posts)I used to really enjoy that area!
Lots of good stuff there -- the American Cafe, and the food court was even good.
Fell's Point was very cool too before gentrification.

(130,763 posts)a 'new' development not far from Balto, 'National Harbor.' There probably IS a McCormick & Schmick at the Inner Harbor. We enjoyed it a lot.

(106,886 posts)Two flour tortillas, stuffed with refried beans, grated cheese, avocado, green chilies, salsa, sour cream - toasted, both sides, quick on the stove. Grated cabbage, tomato and onion side salad, with lime.

(12,253 posts)accompanied by baby bliss potatoes oven-roasted in duck fat and a big romaine salad with avocado, tomato, red onion and sunflower seeds. A nice dinner roll to go with the main course and either blood orange or raspberry sorbet for dessert. Happy Saturday night!

(12,253 posts)I often have a handful of one or the other for breakfast. I also bought black sesame seeds at the Asian supermarket the last time I went and a pop of black really dresses up a salad or veggie dish. Good morning!

(146,218 posts)Just a few more days here in the "big city" (pop. 2000). We could do chinese, mexican, italian or seafood. Have a friend coming in and will let him choose.
No cooking or cleaning for me!

(12,253 posts)What did you decide to have?

(146,218 posts)The friend that we were supposed to go out with came over before hand for a glass of wine.
Well the glass of wine turned into a bottle of wine and nobody looked like they were going anywhere.
So, I pulled out the rest of my "really, really green soup" and dressed it up some. Then I made a platter of things in the fridge - ham, cheeses, caprese salad fixings, strawberries, crackers, pita bread.
Put that out on the table and noshed. A couple of other people came over and there was even enough for them.
So much for going out, lol!
How was your fish?

(12,253 posts)That was very resourceful of you and not a completely unknown scenario for me. I'm sure your guests appreciated every morsel you put out. I love those type of casual, anything goes kind of evening.
I ended up dry-rubbing the fish on one side with hot hungarian paprika and the other with tumeric then grilled it in a mixture of olive oil and butter. We didn't eat until late, so I 96ed the potatoes and we just had fish and salad. The avocado helped stem the paprika burn and it was quite tasty.
Glad you had a good weekend!

(146,218 posts)I am not a big fan of fish (which is most unfortunate because I live on the ocean, lol). I'm not good a cooking it and I can't stand the smell in my fridge or pots and pans.
I also enjoy the casual, last-minute get-together.
Well, time to bake my chicken.
Talk to you later.
Apple pie.

(135,060 posts)so lots of grazing. Madster did her part on the veg bin with raw carrots, celery and cukes and some sausage(breakfast becuase it was going to go bad). T-man cleaned out the fridge of anything all things meat and put a good dent into the fruit on the counter and in the bins. I did another burrito of beans/rice, guac, cheese, fresh tomatoes and sour cream.

(9,791 posts)I think I have this recipe nailed! The heavy cream did the trick to make it thick and rich. Thank you to those who suggested it.

(106,886 posts)Shallots, butter, flour, clam juice, chopped clams, parboiled cubed potatoes, heavy cream, white pepper, salt and thyme. Nope. No tomatoes.

(51,907 posts)Chicken, pulled pork, and a link. Sides of potato salad, slaw and a jalapeno muffin. No room at all for sweet potato pie or peach cobbler.
