What's for Dinner, Sun., June 17, 2018

Tossed green salad with raw vegetables like carrot, pepper, onion, and cucumber.

Sausages with onions and red pepper. I put my sausages in the slow cooker. Not only does it keep from heating up the kitchen, the sausages are unbelievably tender.

I slice the onions on a mandoline. Then I saute them very slowly over a very low heat and sprinkle a little baking soda over them. I add a little sugar or agave. The baking soda gives them a golden color.

Cold Foster's beer to go with the sausages.

with bleu cheese butter, a tossed green salad with vegetables, similar to yours, Cher, with a bleu cheese dressing I made. Homemade steak fries, maybe some broccoli, and for dessert, white cake with whipped cream and sliced peaches.

using clams. mussels, cod, squid and shrimp. Consider it a seafood red "gravy". With a Caesar salad, and garlic bread. Oh, and I'm adding some diced zucchini to the sauce as well. (Needs another veggie.)

And red vino, too.

re: mandoline: I have one, I love it, but still scares the heck outta me. One false move and....

I was talking to my sister, not paying attention while slicing onion & I forgot to use the hand pusher. It is now like an evil, lurking thing in my cupboard, waiting the next round.

Inspired by irisblue the other day.
I made my husband a lovely chef salad, but I piled Virginia ham, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, mayo
AND mustard onto a sesame Kaiser. Y-U-M.
