Icelandic lamb cutlets. They have been marinating in eggs, which is a tenderizer.
Celery, apple, and peanut salad.
I imagine a few potatoes will find their way onto our plates.

(32,950 posts)There is a substantial taste difference, this is more like a mom&pop Italian restaurant soup flavor as I am remembering it.
What did you decide on?

(17,427 posts)Pork, potato and salad. I am still not doing anything about it, I've got my feet up sipping hot tea.
The imported tomatoes sound worth it for the soup. I would have expected only a subtle difference.

(17,427 posts)I just got home from setting up a DJ at a wedding party. TJ, the night shift worker is snoozing, so no input from there.
There should be all sorts of leftovers. Pork roast, chicken, spaghetti with meat sauce and ????, so I won't go hungry.
I'm going to have a cup of black tea and ponder this. One big factor is having the energy and motivation to make an overdue trip to the store this evening.
go on a leisurely trip to the store. Buy a salad or accompaniment to the leftovers. That way it's an easy fix for tonight.
Also buy whatever strikes your fancy for tomorrow.

(17,427 posts)A perusal of the fridge shows plenty of salad materials, TJ must have gone shopping one night when I was asleep.
I've decided to go with pork, potato and salad.
A trip to the store will be postponed until tomorrow, with list and coupons. What Granny used to call a "big shop". It will be my only task on Sunday (I hope).

(2,016 posts)Portuguese braised and shredded beef on a bun. Not sure what else, probably a salad. But the house right now smells divine!
ps: Darn posting won't take the cedilla for the "c". There oughta be a law!

(30,724 posts)Our fire department had its annual pig roast. We brought home roast pork sandwiches, locally grown sweet corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. I don't know who made the gravy, but it was good.
Nice job, firemen!
