Almost done with my kitchen rehab

after a torn up kitchen for almost 3 weeks, have a new stove, refrigerator and dishwasher installed. Have new countertops on one side of kitchen, going to have the other done in a few weeks. Going to take down the island and add a few more cabinets along the wall.

Finally have an oven again, going to make buttermilk cornbread today. I made a strawberry cake yesterday. The temperature of the oven seems to be perfect and it does not need leveling.

Tomorrow, meatloaf and scalloped potatoes. If I have some yeast, may make some dinner rolls.

I redid my kitchen with elbow grease, scrubbing grease off cabinet doors, searching the internet, painting the doors with white cabinet paint, and creating faux marble counters.

But wish I could have gone your way

have lived in this house for over 30 years, replaced the dishwasher and garbage disposal a few times, but the stove, ovens and fridge came with the house and all had either quilt working or not working right. We had to have some new appliances and countertops.

We've been refurbishing our apartment for 2 years while living in it! What a mess and we've left the kitchen for last. It is, after all, the most important room in the house.

Congratulations, dem in texas, and enjoy your new feast-o-rama room!

How long did it take? Did you do all the work yourself or hire it out?

We put that floor throughout the house...I LOVED that floor....and the whole remodel.. We were there for 32 years...and of course we moved to Washington state last year so I lost my dream kitchen..

but we are close to our only grandchild now, so it's a trade off..

Our son is a GC and he and his crew did the work..

We also put on a new roof..replaced all the windows and put in french doors.. Our cabinets were custom..14" interior depth to accomodate my stuff

We dumped about 70 k into the remodel..

I miss my sink the most.. It was a 15 gauge stainless 33 inches wide and 11 inches deep.. I searched for ages to find it...found it in France..We waited 2 months for it arrive, to a dealer in Florida and then shipped to us..

If we ever sell the Calif house, I will remodel my kitchen in this house...just sink ,stove & counter top..

I must have granite/marble (some stone top) and a gas stove & a single bowl stainless deep-sink.. call me a kitchen snob
