It's hot here in Jersey, too. I'm going to experiment with raw cooking, a strategy not mentioned at the link. This is where you put entire dishes together, but nothing is cooked. I posted about my first project in the daily what's for dinner thread for 12/15.

for grandson's 2d birthday 'party,' Sunday, not the official party but the actual Honor the Event.

Thinking VERY simple, guac, hummus, fresh vegs (which they love and actually GROW, but I can't serve what they've grown without asking daughter to forage in their garden!) and whatever else I think of. MAYBE some of my neighbor's little tomatoes are ready!

Last year for his FIRST we did a big blow out here at my home, and his mother/my daughter wants to avoid such this year.

AND a cake from the grocery store!
