Long laid back table talk - I've known them all since my first months in CA. And when we were done, we were done. I like that a lot. It was just right.

this is the first time have done it in a fry pan … turned out very good …
and didn't heat up the kitchen like the oven ..
cold watermelon for desert.

greens (from the freezer) sauteed with garlic and cumin, steamed red potatoes, cornbread, tomato/cucumber salad. We ate so much that we had to share our cornbread with the dogs--buttered, of course.

ETA: I also tried the curried cucumber pickles I made last week. They need some tweaking. Although they were wonderfully crisp and tart, they needed more flavor--garam masala and more hot curry.
