(2,016 posts)Cooking right now... I figure after 1.5 days of not eating, it's time to get my stomach in gear again. (Came back from a 5 day trip to Las Vegas, where much gluttony and debauchery was had. - Cooking was sooo not on my mind when I came back.)
Can I get directions and when I should show up

p.s. I have an Aldi tip. They have Anchor-Hocking glass containers on sale for $9.99. I've seen similar sets on sale at the grocery stores for $14.99. I would much prefer my leftovers in glass, but I don't have enough containers, so I bought a set. Very nice set; good quality. There's a pic at this page:

I'm thinking to go back and get another set before the 15th.

(39,961 posts)I don't have an Aldi's here, but it's always better to store things in glass, imo.

(1,705 posts)with part frozen spinach and part chard from the Farmers Market. My son thinks the chard will ruin it, but still patiently buttered all the phyllo for me. I think with the feta and buttery phyllo, it won't make a difference. Side dishes are sliced tomatoes and I'll stir-fry the chard stems.
The spanikopita only used half the box of phyllo, now I have to figure out what to do with the rest. I was just looking at a recipe for Chocolate Hazelnut Cigars, with a line of Nutella piped on phyllo and rolled up. So I may do that.

(2,012 posts)and phyllo dough is delicious in many dishes. One I like:
Unwrap thawed phyllo dough. Lay sheet out and coat lightly with cooking spray. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Lay second sheet on top; repeat to use all dough. Cut into 8 rectangles; fit into ungreased muffin tins. Bake 10 min. at 400 deg. Cool. Fill with fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and/or sliced peaces. Top with whipped cream or ice cream. These can be made with croissant dough also.
I have an old-fashioned type electric ice cream freezer that makes a gallon and can be kept in freezer. I make a custard vanilla and it's really worth the effort if you like ice cream as much as I do.
