She was jonesing for them.

Berry picking is finally tapering off, just over 7 gallons atm, and the 8th gallon with be the last of the freezer space, so it's definitely time to pull out the food mill and start processing some into juice to save space. I've let the new blueberries rest in their pots for a couple of days to acclimate, so I need to get them repotted into larger containers tomorrow, which means digging out the pH meter and making sure I get the soil right. Hope I can still find it, haven't used it since we got rid of the holly bushes.

radish and cuke salad on the side (new menu item, not terribly impressed with it). Washed it down with a wheat beer.

i'll be hungry much later, but i'll deal with that when it happens.

I prefer the small ones anyway.

I steamed the tails and served them with some steamed fresh asparagus, mashed potatoes made with homemade buttermilk, and for desert it was fresh blueberries, strawberries, and peaches topped with whipped homemade creme fraiche.

White vinegar, soy sauce, a little hot sauce, sugar. Used veggie stock for it all.

Beef was left over BBQ so it added that taste and some "browned bits". Used quite a lot of ginger - I love that in a soup. Topped with fresh parsley, shaved carrot for color and...shaved ginger.

For sides, I had the last of a pasta salad, and a "summer" slaw from the deli: traditional slaw with cukes and tomatoes.
