So shoot me now!

I've just learned, after having my lungs and heart checked, that I have a hiatal hernia, and checked what foods to avoid.

As I'm busy with other things, like daughter being married, and having cataract removed, I'll probably wait a bit to deal with this thing surgically (if my doc thinks I should do that,) but REALLY, ALL my favorite foods to be avoided???!!!

for years, I thought it was tomato sauce on pizza or spaghetti. Turns out it was the wheat.

Canola oil is another one of my triggers, instant erupting volcano under my sternum.

Other than that, I'm pretty peachy.

Just eat the "problem foods" one at a time until you figure out which are the worst, then avoid them.

and have been using antacids for a long time. More problematic has been recent labored breathing, for which my doc sent me to cardiologist and pulmonologist. As no problems with heart and lungs found, but hernia seen, I'm looking to address labored breathing that occurs after I've eaten. Was surprised to hear of the hernia today.

What the heck did I eat yesterday???

At least not in my experience. Two Pepcid a day do make a difference.

and they work pretty well with the heartburn, but I suspect some pressure up from stomach/hernia area, occasionally impinges on my breathing, so I have to take unusually deep breaths, after eating. Its just a suspicion; will confirm with my doc.
