it is the last night at the house for some very special guests, so we had a very special dinner.
Bagna Cuada with endive, red pepper and bread
drool.
Then fried veal and turkey cutlets, slow roasted tomatoes and fried eggplant with mozz and park.
We are stuffed, and DH is making some coffee to tie thing up.
Hope everyone else is having as wonderful a supper as we did.

(50,130 posts)....with jack cheese and tomatillo salsa verde. Zucchini slices pan browned with fresh corn off the cob, homegrown lunchbox peppers and sungold tomatoes. Gorgeous, gorgeous day here on the river. 75 degrees.
I hardly know what to do with myself now that sufficient pickles and jams are ready for winter.

(2,016 posts)A couple of pieces of deli fried chicken, the last of the red cabbage slaw, a few ounces of roasted butternut squash, and since tomorrow is shopping day - instant mashed spuds.
Looking forward to making something new - but my fridge will be purged! Let's start all over again...

i gotta get up and make a sandwich. i worked 11 hours today and it wasn't awful, but it was stressful enough. finally got home about an hour ago and have been sitting on the porch, listening to the rain and nursing the one beer that was in the fridge. it was nice of the husband to leave the last one for me.
i have mozz, salami, tomato and basil left over from last night's dinner, so i'm going to slap it on some regular old toast and pop it under the broiler. there may even be some potato chips. i am very excited about this.
