can you freeze fresh sliced mushrooms?

I am making a dish on Friday that calls for fresh sliced mushrooms.

I want to go to the story today to buy my groceries. If I did that, I would want to slice the mushrooms. would they freeze nicely till Friday? or should I just wait till Friday to buy them?

I don't think fresh mushrooms freeze well at all. They are like little sponges and the ice will alter their texture.

Mushrooms can be frozen if they are cooked but even then IMO they don't taste as good.

and be sure to reserve the liquid. They freeze just fine after they are cooked.

Uncooked mushies turn, well, mushy because the liquid ruptures cell walls.
