I'm always looking for good new recipes, and as far as I'm concerned that looks like a good site for them. Dankesehr!

I do a lot of entertaining, but rarely am entertained. I would like that very, very much.

But they have a history of bailing, so I must be prepared for that.

I've got fixings for some good quesadillas and can make some guacamole, so that's going to be my fallback plan.

How about you?

I've thawed out some ground beef and am in the mood for a grilled hamburger.

Got some tomato and onion and avocado, but I might just go for the Kraft Mac and Cheese.

But lunch was better yet. I tried a new bread, the 'ancient grains' one baked at a local place, with sprouts, pepper jack cheese, bread and butter pickles, banana pepper slices, and a red pepper bruschetta (w/ two types of roasted red pepper, olive oil, sea salt and garlic). I had an avocado as well, but forgot it, and it was still heavenly.

Can't wait for tomatoes and basil at the farmers market soon. I usually opt for mayo and dill, but red pepper hummus sounds good too.

starting with, of course, the bread. A nice chewy crust, along with a decent density to the bread is a must. Generic white bread might as well be airline food. I also had some shitake shrooms, but thought my chewyness balance was decent already on this one. If I'd had some romaine, I might have put some on. (Note to self, plant some romaine, even if it is on the late side...) Mayonnaise just feels like cheating, though. I'd put it on if all I had was some generic sandwich, but not on anything with a lot of decent flavour already. I was pleased with the cheese as well, I had considered a hard cheese, like extra sharp vermont white cheddar, but wanted a bit more kick, and the soft cheese worked excellently.

...with a green salad with some leftover greek dressing. A sharp dressing is always good alongside a cheesy entree.

I'm going to put a crispy panko crust on them with some kind of nut. I want to do macadamia, but will have to stop and buy some on the way home.

Raining like crazy here and I know the roads are going to be a nightmare, as we already received a flooding warning in our mailboxes here at school.

Cold smoked salmon and olives. Good for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. (I've been using cream cheese for that set up.) I think I have a library of olives on hand in the fridge. All I have to do is decide which olives to have.

Nice.

ps, Pinto: Go Sox!
