is your kitchen open this evening?

Mine is, and smelling good! Holiday food is in prep tonight.

BBQ sauce simmering for oven ribs. Apples sliced for pie. Potatoes simmering for salad. Dipping strawberries in chocolate for the kids. Boston beans baking in the oven. Hot roll dough in the fridge to proof tomorrow.

Ain't we got fun? Where is our Hippywife, queen of the kitchen marathon?

but if it isn't quite ready tomorrow, it'll be pollo asado in chicken tacos with lots of toppings. I also have some nice, fat asparagus spears to go with the fish when it does thaw well enough.

Do you buy the salmon already frozen, or fresh. I'm only a nice drive from the ocean but very picky about fish.

Tomorrow, rib eye and shrimp on the grill -- white corn and coleslaw
.
Lunch will be (VERY low-sodium tuna) tuna salad with mayo, onions
and hard-boiled eggs on soft pumpernickel bread. Yum!!! Maybe more
caprese salad on the side. ALWAYS room there for caprese salad.

... unless I'm making it in the form of a special presentation, I use freeze-dried basil and
it reconstitutes nicely in the balsamic vinegar.

And my-my-my-my-my... fresh tomato sandwiches on white bread with mayo (hold the
salt now, darn it!!!)

That sounds heavenly.

Your family is truly lucky to have you adding this important element to family memories.

In the pressure cooker I posted about here a couple of months ago. From a cookbook by Madhur Jaffrey. Yum!
