Excuse me while I wipe up the keyboard LOL
I hope Paul Ryan is what's for dinner, though
Come to think of it, anyone have a good recipe for the mint sauce that goes with lamb?

(12,253 posts)But the debate will be better. I'm anxious about the debate but confident that Joe can handle this with grace. We will get our mojo back. Next week, Obama will clinch it (which is what I divinely hoped for in the first debate) and the last debate will just be running up the score. We will win.

(12,253 posts)Whenever you want the great nieces and nephews to remember your name (total 59) you do pratfalls for them when they are little. Can't help myself.

(50,130 posts)Went to Trader Joe's today, so there are multiple things to choose from. The orange-flavored cranberries are tasty. Then I stopped at the bakery outlet store and got another bag full of stuff.
On the walk home through the park I was accosted by a group of Canada geese who apparently knew I had been to the bread outlet. They blocked my path, and gaggled up close. So I fed them a whole grain English muffin, and then they started hissing at me. !!! This party's over, fellas. I never want to know what it feels like to be pinched by one of them.
You nearly got goosed
Geese are scary when they hiss at you.

(146,218 posts)Loaded up on cheese, crackers, some liquor, nuts, dried fruits and cookies - all for the big upcoming trip.
Geese scare the daylights out of me. I was repeatedly tortured by them while in college - nasty, vicious creatures.

(50,130 posts)No liquor.
Fat Free cottage cheese (love theirs)
Fat Free plain yogurt
Unsalted roasted sunflower seeds
45% less sodium sliced salami
bag of dried orange-flavored cranberries
large bag of their frozen haricot vert that come from France (really good)
wedge lite feta
EVOO
jasmine green tea
bag of muesli
I wanted some "everything" crackers, but apparently they have discontinued those, dammit.

(12,253 posts)the park on the river. There were so many at first, that the grass had given way to sludge and when you did try to walk through you were in for a mugging. They tried hunters, purple kool-aid-like substance and finally border collies. Lucky you to raid Trader Joe's today. I love treats from TJ's.

(50,130 posts)He doesn't pay much attention to them, though.
But he sure likes to munch goose poop when it gets a little crunchy. I have to watch him all the time for that.

(12,253 posts)But if it smells good to him, I'm sure he goes for it. Seems picky about the texture, though. :rolf:

That was a very funny paragraph, but I, too, understand why you would not want to get pinched.

I am really enjoying eating out, even though I'm not eating particularly healthy. Will get back on track when we leave on Sunday!

(12,253 posts)Hanging out and laughing. Maybe dancing to the jukebox.... Like that.
A burger and a beer once in a while won't throw you too far off. You eat healthy foods all the time at home. Have fun!

(12,253 posts)When I was tending bar on the day shift I got pretty good at pool. Been a while, though. Sounds like a nice way to wind down for a trip to nowhere.

(35,658 posts)I was going to cook something very interesting but I got lazy and went with leftovers instead. It was delish, though: lamb stew with vegetables.
My very interesting dish will have to wait until tomorrow. The recipe was dreamed up for me by my spouse as I drove him to the airport where he is headed to Paris for a week. He is attending a food conference.
