How would you introduce a person who hates eggs to eating eggs?

I hate eggs. I can tolerate some hardboiled eggs, but that's it. The smell, particularly, and the taste texture have been a turnoff. This may be a result of exposure to poorly cooked eggs growing up.

I did used to cook a fair variety when working in restaurants, but that was a while ago, but personally didn't care for them.

I suspect that with fresh eggs and proper flavoring/seasoning and the right cooking style I might like one. But I'm so indoctrinated into not having them.

Knowing all that, if you were going to suggest an egg dish - poached, scrambled, omelet, etc. - what would you suggest that might be a "really good experience" that might get me to like them, or at least that particular dish?

living with a bad cook. The only way I can get them down is in egg foo yung, heavy on the onions and gravy.

Were I to start cooking them for myself, I'd probably do omelets stuffed with all sorts of goodies or scrambled eggs, again studded with all sorts of goodies.

By themselves, though? No way, Jose.

because that's what I was going to say.

These days I make egg white omelets with lots of stuff in them. Haven't really noticed an egg smell with these.

There isn't a single way I don't like them!!

My favorite intro to them (as I can recall) was scrambled... and years later I discovered they were scrambled with a boatload of butter. Not sure they're my fav today, but I always remember Mrs. Kelly's scrambled eggs were the best ever!!

I had a scrambled egg/chorizo burrito today. That wasn't too shabby.

My dad was the king of scrambled eggs. My kids told me I didn't make scrambled eggs like Pap did unless I did it his way.

I love eggs too. I especially like egg salad sandwiches.

I was averse to eggs for years, until I found real organic, real free range eggs from urban homesteaders. The difference in the eggs was so dramatic that now I love eggs. I tried store bought "organic, free range" eggs and the taste was so bad I couldn't eat them. It could be the fact that commercially produced eggs are washed before packing. That removes the coating the hens cover the eggs with and is what can cause eggs to taste different, and spoil faster.

Anyway, my advice is to find out if there are any urban homesteaders in your area who raise chickens. I am able to see the hens, I see they are happy or as happy as a hen can be. They socialize with their kind, and other creatures. Their beaks are not clipped they are beautiful creatures, not the pitiful things you see in most commercial operations.

Go to a decent restaurant and enjoy the eggy goodness.

If you can't take eggs in the form of a soufflé, then you'll never eat eggs.

This says its ham and cheese, but I suspect it has a little spinach in there too.

and gather the eggs as a child and once she threw them all at the side of the barn. Seeing them run down the barn side disgusted her so much, she's never touched an egg since.

I can eat things with eggs in them as long as I don't recognize any egg. The mere thought of eating an egg makes me queasy.

Now, here is the thing - I love the yolk. I would eat that deviled yolk in your picture in a heartbeat, but throw all the white away. I order eggs benedict, ask for the poached egg on the side and very carefully open it to get to the runny yellow part, while staying away from white.

I used to love moo shu port until I found out that it was filled with scrambled eggs. Now that's all I see when I look at it.

I know it's in my head, but I can't get it out. Years ago I was dating a guy who I really liked. The first morning he made breakfast, he proudly put a big, fat omelette in front of me at the table. I gagged, sputtered and tried desperately to eat just a little of it, but I could not.

So, I can all I can offer you is empathy. I don't think I will ever change in this regard.

the side.

I always get weird looks from the server, but i can get to that yolk like a pro.

Keep the white parts. I think it's a texture thing.
