So's how's everybody doing with the holiday onslaught?

Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year's.

Yikes!

The never ending opportunities to enjoy party food (read: rich, sugary, buttery, fatty, etc) test even the strongest of wills.

I was doing pretty well. Thanksgiving I was able to maintain. Then came Christmas Eve. We visited both families, two formal dinners.

Lots of handmade goodies later, I'm almost sick. The good news is in about a six week period, I've only gain about 2.5 pounds. I can wipe that out if I get back on my healthy eating habits after New Years. I plan to start juicing again next week and starting a round of HIIT. That course should take me to the middle of February.

Just wanted to check in and vent. So how are you doing?

Stepped back from my veg*n lifestyle and had barbeque pork on Christmas Eve and prime rib Christmas day, but January 1st comes the 21-Day Vegan Kickstart.

In the past I've fixed tofurkey for myself but this year I was depressed and lazy. No more of that.

to maintain whatever eating plan we have when visiting other people's homes. Mine has completely gone out the window the past couple of days.

I won't get back on it today because I'm fixing a birthday dinner for my SO. I hope to get back at it by the end of the week. Yours sounds like a good plan too.

I think the key is that even though we stopped going to Weight Watcher meetings in July, I still keep a daily food diary and aim to keep my daily points at around 40. This helped me greatly keep control during the holiday season.....

Not that it is easy to stay disciplined - but somehow I am doing it!

I also survived thanksgiving just fine. The last couple weeks were rough with house guests though, probably due to irregular sleep schedules, a little stress and not enough water in addition to the holiday eating. I'm back on my game as of this morning now that the last house guest is gone, and planning to take it back off in the next week or so. Overall I'm still down 15 pounds since Aug ... but a week ago that number was 20.
