Well, going to Hawaii tomorrow. Still no energy...

Vacation starts tomorrow. I'm still exhausted all the time which sucks. I don't know what is physical and what is emotional at this point. My blood pressure and heart sounded OK last time I was at the DR but I wonder about my heart sometimes. Or it could just be my depression still.

4. Thank you , I'll do my best...

Have you been to Hawaii before? We were there a few years ago on the big island along the Kona coast. Had a great time, but I was in a different mood and in better shape than now. This time we are going to Kauai.

BTW what do you use as a short form for you name? Using In the wind all the time is a little awkward and IN by itself seems a little short? Most people use Loc for me

3. You may be surprised

at how you feel once you get there. I have major depression and anxiety disorders. And I can't imagine anything that would make me feel better than to see and smell the ocean. Nature is an amazing thing.

6. This is true. However I'm going with my parents...

And every time you go with your parents you always bring family baggage with you. My depression and anxiety issues are exacerbated by family issues. But I agree it should be therapeutic if I'm in the right mood.

7. seperating the physical and mental states is really hard.

traveling is also a real depressing thing now but in a few hours the scenery will be different and the break may bring some peace.

10. Indeed. Since everything we experience is processed by our brain...

In a way everything, even the physical is in the end all emotional. As those who suffer from panic attacks and hypochondria know the brain can create physical symptoms as a result of their emotional condition that are every bit as real as 'real' physical symptoms. It gets all the worse when there really IS a mix of physical and emotional problems as so often is the case. One could have a minor viral or bacterial infection causing real but in the end minor symptoms along with their depression and the end result may be they feel like they are dying.

8. i hope you have a good time

i know it's hard to travel when you don't feel well, i really hope that getting away for a bit will help you feel better. sometimes all it takes is getting away.

9. Thank you. I doubt it will solve any of the primary issues, but...

It doesn't really have to I suppose. A break and an emotional breath of fresh air might be helpful either way.

11. i don't think you should expect it to solve things

but it's a chance to relax and refresh and maybe come back with a fresh perspective on something.

it's a shame traveling with your family is a stressor for you, i love traveling with my dad and my sister and going to see my mom.

good luck and take plenty of pictures for us

13. I will indeed not bring a laptop and no TV. But I will be on the net, and watch some movies, games..

I'll be on the net sorry Though only a bit in the evenings to check up on things and post a post or two here or there. I can't do without the net, I actually find the net relaxing. I'll also be bringing my Tablet for watching movies and my hand held Nintendo DS to game on the plane and a bit at night here and there.

I'm sorry to hear you will be in such a stressful situation. Where will you be in a few weeks that is so bad?

14. Eugine Oregon for graduation

several families that are very civil but at odds with each other so the head games get frantic from the passive aggressiveness .I am always in the middle as an unpaid referee and therapist even though I am the least functionally sane . These occasions would make good movies if you like dark humor mixed with angst and desperation .

I plan on walking into the woods and hugging a tree or something when it gets too weird and no amount of drugs will tone it down unless I start drooling in a catatonic stupor . You know good quality family time frivolities .

have a good time.

15. Ahh yes family. You have to love them, and you can't legally shoot them ;)

To borrow from Homer Simpson "the cause of AND solution to ALL of LIFE'S problems", in this case Homer was talking about beer. It's not politically correct to hate family but let's face it family dynamics represent some of the most screwed up, fucked up emotional relationships you can have. I know exactly what you mean by the passive aggressiveness. In fact I'm going to make a separate post about that.

16. Take pictures! (Those you've posted here are wonderful.)

And give yourself plenty of time to wander off alone.

I'm guessing they still sell those disposable underwater film cameras. Those are fun too, if you don't have more advanced underwater stuff.

Do not get sunburned!

18. Thank you. I will post photos, but...

Probably not until we get back as I don't have a handy way to process them. I might post a cell phone PIC or two. We actually have brought along one of those disposable waterproof cameras for snorkel shots. Will try not to get sunburned but that's something I always seem to fail at when on these vacations
