Ever feel you have to turn off the news for
your sanity? With all the bad things happening, I'm feeling agitated.

1. I had to stop watching MSNBC for a couple of months.
It was getting to me. I just read the news online which is easier on the psyche for some reason.
And instead watching escape TV. Helped a lot. |

2. If we all knew what President Biden knows...
Maybe Biden was given an ultimatum by China/Russia.
Get out by mid August, or go to war. We don't know what Trump 'negotiated' with the enemy. To your question, "Yes. More & more every day". 🍃 |

3. Agreed.
Whenever they interview imbeciles who refuse to be vaccinated or wear masks, I start yelling at the tv like a crazy person. And watching Ron DeSantis say anything about anything drives me over the edge. I can't take it any longer.

4. Yes. Sometimes even DU (turn off). Doom and gloom sometimes rules the airwaves too much.

6. Absolutely.
While 45 was still in office, we felt compelled to watch most nights for self-protection, but some nights, many nights, it was too much. Now, we watch MSNBC about once a week. I take frequent breaks from DU. Its all about self care and stress management.

7. I get most of my news from here.
I do watch the news here and there but not near as much as I used to. If I see something new being talked about here but no source given I will go to news and other avenues of information. Watching the actual news just angers and depresses me. I watch Rachel most of the time when I do watch news.

13. You Tube has been a lifesaver!
The Volcano, Dr Sandra Lee, crochet videos, Liberal Redneck, Twins who react to music, It's a Southern Thing help keep me sane. I love the guy with the squirrel obstacle course and the exploding stuff.
I also have the Cliburn Channel which has marvelous classical music performed by International champion concert pianists. Right now I have The Volcano on and I am seeing a huge eruption that I somehow never saw before.I love that Volcano |

17. I have to say
I have found the twins to be entertaining at times. I also love to watch someone discovering something that is old and unknown to them, but was part of my life at the time.

10. I only turn it on if something catastrophic happens.
Last time I had news on was Jan 6th till about the 12th.
I stopped watching TV news years ago and I couldn't be happier. I have access to unfiltered and un-programmed news here on the interwebs. |

11. I was watching Jonathan Capehart today listening to them criticize the Afghan withdrawal
And I had to turn it off. They were so negative about a no win situation.
Personally I’m glad we are leaving and let them sort it out. While I am concerned about the women’s rights we can’t keep spending there while we have so much suffering in our own country. And women’s rights as well as our democracy here are being jeopardized by the GQP. |

15. I quit television news and opinion a long time ago...
... coming up on twenty years now.
I find television advertising equally intolerable. My wife has never been interested in television news or opinion. We don't have broadcast, satellite, or cable television. We read all our news. Maybe I can't deal with a constant torrent of horrors I can't change. |
