Bursitis

What treatments do you recommend?
I haven't done anything, except for a hip biopsy when the first hip started to hurt. It's in both hips now and the pain alternates. I have weeks where it doesn't bother me, and then I'll have a period where my walking is impeded.
I see my PCP next week and I'll ask what to do.

1. Can you get physical therapy?

I got PT for hip Bursitis and found it very helpful. When you finish PT, you can continue to do the exercises.

2. I took a prescription dose of Ibuprofen for a week, and the paidnwent away.

A friend got a cortisone shot right into the hip, and that helped her too, though the doctor warned her to avoid another steroid shot for a year.

Something else to look into is your shoes. Hip pain can come from arch problems. You might try out some orthotic in your shoes, something to prop the arch up, and see if that makes any difference. (If it does, a podiatrist could help.)

3. All good ideas

My chiropractor is a nice guy but he didn't refer me anywhere...if my doctor doesn't I may just have to look for PT on my own.
I've been flat-footed since childhood, and I'm sure that doesn't help.
I've heard about the shots, but since both sides act up that might not be a good solution.
I'll look into ibuprofen.

4. I take Bromelein (pineapple enzyme) with my ibuprofen.

It helps so much. Now I mostly just take the Bomelein without the ibuprofen.

6. Got that covered!

I take an anti-inflammatory supplement and it's got bromelain in it.

7. Maybe it's not bursitis?

Went to my PCP and asked him to help me figure it out. He never got my MRI from the hospital, so he's requesting that, and tomorrow I go for an X-ray, standing, with weights? After moving my joints around he was impressed by my flexibility (I know how that sounds, but he's really unattractive), so he's not sure what my issue is. Specially because it's intermittent.
