Grace and Frankie Season 5

I just couldn't stop myself from binge watching the entire season in one day. Funny as always. I don't know; maybe you have to be a woman of a certain age (ahem) to enjoy watching this, but for me it's the perfect escape from all the political nonsense and awfulness of the country right now.

So this morning I started rewatching from season one. I rarely, well truthfully never rewatch a series, but anything that will make me laugh out loud is worthwhile for my sanity right now. There are so many dark series on TV nowadays and quite frankly, I get tired of all the crime shows, legal shows, true life series on criminals, etc. etc. Oh, don't get me wrong. I got sucked into "Ozark" last year too and "Roma" is a tremendous movie, but at some point I have to switch it up.

and i write Horror Fiction and Sci-Fi. Right now... I just can't take all of the drear, drear, drear. Plus... the dark stuff is all the same dystopian, apocalyptic or slasher.
The one standout for me was Ozark.

As a follow up to Grace and Frankie, may I suggest the french series Call My Agent. on Netflix. It is clever and heartfelt and there are great cameos from the best of French Cinema.

It is about movie agents in Paris. they are one of the top agencies in the world for French talent. It revolves around each of the agents and their clients.
It is also the story of a young woman, who comes to Paris looking for her estranged father (she is a love child), he is the top agent at this firm and does not want anyone, especially his wife, to know about his daughter. He gets her a starter job at the agency where she works on the down low and no one knows she is his daughter.

There is another great story line for an out lesbian power agent that is very fresh and honest.

What I really liked about it is, unlike so many other series where it is difficult to like any of the characters, because they are so corrupt and mean; these characters, despite their foibles and infighting, are very like-able and they feel like a family. When they talk about the agency being a family...it feels right despite the infighting.

It was refreshingly real, humorous, and I hated to see it end. 3 seasons. It is not certain if there will be a new season.

Sounds like one I could like. I've found a lot of good ones on Acorn TV too.

Even though the skits are funny and hilarious, there's a kernel of truth about how older women and men are treated in our culture. My two sisters and I are all in our 70's and we love this show mainly because we can relate.

it wasn't sticking with me the way some of the seasons had. I'm curious now about 5 so I'll keep watching.

enough humor. I do wonder what the next season will bring after what happened at the end of the last episode.

The first episode was not to my liking, but after that it improved remarkably. The season ending was very satisfying. It felt like the series could stop there and it felt right.

But if they decide on a season 6, I’ll definitely watch.
