any Midsomer Murders fans here?
My wife and I have been watching them the past couple of weeks.
Just curious - but they tend to run 1:45 or so. So does that mean they are shown on one evening for a two hour period with time for commercials? Or over several evenings?
In either case, we love them. We particularly enjoy Inspector Troy - what a character.

(12,154 posts)Very few British mysteries we don't like. Found the tunnel a bit too dark.

(7,888 posts)I enjoyed every season available on Netflix. It was a bit uncomfortable to realize there was a lack of diversity in Midsomer.

(6,786 posts)Agree, the Tunnel is/was dark. The two main characters overcame that darkness for me. Im a fan of almost all the British mysteries. Another good one is Endeavor.

(4,033 posts)Can't figure out how there are any residents left in Midsomer though. The body count in each episode goes up and up.

Haven't watch that particular show yet, generally not a big fan of cop shows overall. However, I did chance upon another British "C.B. Strike", based on best-selling novels by J.K. Rowling writing under a pseudonym.
Its about an ex Brit soldier turned drunken private investigator. He has a prosthetic leg, PTSD, and is beset with all kinds of personal problems, but underneath all his demons, he really is a good guy. Good show so far.

(20,411 posts)solving the crimes has been more cerebral on the part of the Chief Inspector.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,582 posts)not to mention the bizarre nature of the murders, seems to be rather extraordinary. And nobody ever seems to get stabbed in a bar brawl; all the victims turn out to have had some unknown involvement with sinister but wealthy people with inexplicable motives, and they seem to turn up dead in rose gardens, churches, or at peculiar village festivals.

(34,131 posts)That was the complaint about Angela Lansbury's character - every where she went there was at least one murder!
