There are products that seem to turn a wheelchair into something looking like a motorcycle.

I've decided to take my supplement money, (and maybe a little more) and buy one for my cousin in Ontario who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair.

The thing is, the price goes from $7,000's to one here on Amazon for $750.

And then this one is a mear $4,131 ! And somewhere I saw one for over $7,000

I would like to know if anyone knows anything about these things. Why is one so cheap and others so damn expensive. I had said OK to one about $3,350 and that is the most I can go.

I also wonder if I can get one used in Canada. I live in FL and of course I can't travel there now but there must be vehicles for getting used motorcycle type wheelchairs.

I'm thinking maybe I should just contact a company or a non-profit group for information. Any directions would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes these organizations are a great resource. And, how nice of you to spend your money for your cousin.

get out much and that they don't have the ability for him to get out.

But thanks. There is an organization in Toronto. I mentioned it to his mom but she just said they weren't much help. Maybe it needs a squeaky wheel in the form of my mouth?

He has CP and his biggest COVID concern in hand to wheel contact and what the wheel may transfer to his apartment We have all been in search of lysol and clorox wipes to keep his wheels clean.. Powering the chair will help cut down on the hand to wheel contact

are in their 60's now and don't have much money at all. I know my cousin, his mom quit her job to make sure she didn't bring in any virus into the house.

I've only gotten to know these people, along with a bunch of other cousins in the past 10 years from FB. Because I grew up in the states and they lived all over canada I never spent much time with them. And I've only been up there once. I was planning on going this spring but........you know.

thought something like this would make it so he could go down the street to a convenience store or something. I am pretty sure he does not have a license and I don't know if he could get one.

It sounds like you might know something about these things. Today was the first day I started looking into it.

I'm going to have to ask why he doesn't have a driver's license.
