My sincere apologies

If you don't know what I'm apologizing for, i.e. not aware
of the recent post of mine that was scrubbed by DU jury,
then you can ignore this OP, as it doesn't apply to you.

But if you do know, please accept my heart-felt apology
for any offense that my post may have visited upon your
day.

I'm simply commented on the point in the abstract. If you know what you're apologizing for, you can make that clear without restating whatever the infraction was. In the OP you claim no knowledge of the offense, which means it is not a genuine apology.

Edit: I clearly misread the OP.

I hear you, and understand that words are cheap, and know the difference
between faux apologies and real ones, ok?

You say:
"In the OP you claim no knowledge of the offense..." <-- not true.
What I said was "If YOU don't know what I'm apologizing for ...
then you can ignore this OP, as it doesn't apply to you."
That^would^be^you.

The ONLY people who this OP is even addressed to in the first place, are
those WHO SAW THE POST, and they DO know, as do I, what I'm apologizing
for.

You are not only interloping, you are also wildly speculating about something
that doesn't even concern you.

I edited my post to reflect the change. I apologize. And yes, I badly need new glasses.

Didn't see it, doesn't matter because I believe that your apology is sincere. Who knows, I could very well be the next one to inadvertently stick my foot in my mouth. It happens.. At least you had it in you to say that you were sorry.

... or thinner and fewer? It's hard to tell, because they are so
invisible sometimes, and I don't know what/where it is, until I
step on it, then I find out fast.

I guess that's why we have social sciences (like women's' & mens'
studies, sociology, anthropology, poly-psy, et. al) to sort this stuff
out, to become ever more clear, about where the boundaries are,
legally and culturally.

While the word is crude, you were not using it as a pejorative, so I'm not sure that it really needed to be hidden. It would have been different if you had said "OMG you are such a p***y!!" to insult someone.

I dislike the word, in general, because it has been used so often to belittle others, as much as I hate douchebag, but it's not like you were CALLING someone that to belittle them.

Either way, apology accepted!

And to 99th Monkey, thank you for recognizing that it was offensive to some and therefore deserving an apology.
