Somewhat Optimistic I know - But Could The Patriarchy Be On The Run?????

I rate Laurie Penny as a writer and a feminist. She is wise beyond her years - but I think she has somewhat put the cart before the horse on this. The Patriarchy will cling onto power with every breath in their body..... it is what the do and have done for a millennia!

2. Laurie is right but it will take time.

The old patriarchy has billions of dollars of corporate money behind it. The corps love them because they're reliable plutocracy supporters.

What I suspect is that these incidents like with Kavanaugh have many more of them shaking in their boots because we all know at some time in their life, probably 90% of them behaved "like boys" as they like to say.

The bad news is that the GOP will try to replace them with younger assholes with the same right-wing chops. We Dems will have to fight hard to insure our younger women and men beat their asses......

3. God,I hope so

But people keep voting these old fools in.

To think Grassley and Hatch passed judgement on Anita Hill and can now do the same on Doctor Ford.

This will be the final insult from that bigoted old Hatch. You know the devout Morman?

I think Grassley will stay until he decomposes like Strom Thurmond.

7. Grassley is 85 and Hatch is 84.

They have been misogynists all their lives and won't change their ways at this late date. However, their constituents should see that these two men are slipping, if they watched the hearings. Grassley looked like a deer caught in headlights. He was paralyzed and was unable to act until one of his aids stepped in and gave him notes to tell him what to do. Hatch is just being Hatch and that is not a compliment!

4. Been saying it for a while

Monied white conservative makes are the cornered tiger. Lashing out to protect the last vestiges of their minority rule.

5. Yeah right, I agree,

right after we stop gerrymandering, voter suppression, go from electronic voting machines to paper ballots, and most importantly get the M$M to stop enabling these misogynist, bigots to put out their hateful messages.

The M$M enables these people, the minority, to stay in power. They control the narrative and it isn't just AM right wing radio, it is also the 3 major cable news networks.

Vote this November because if we win by enough we can overcome the rigged voting machines.

8. Your post is spot on in all respects.

All of those issues need to be addressed at a legislative level when we take back the majority in Congress. We also need to stay the course to get out our Democratic voters because without them, we cannot win. Big, important jobs lie ahead for all of us to take back our country.

9. Sexism and fear pushed millions to vote against HRC in 2016 so in a word ...

... no. It (the patriarchy) will change its face but it will be here for many more years.

Because it is like racism and it is still part of the core of the republican party and that will
not change even though they don't use the word n****r in public anymore.

11. The world is digital. Every aspect of our lives is getting captured electronically, particularly...

for those in the public eye. You can't bury the truth, you can't hide the truth, you can't run away from the truth any longer. This is a good thing.
