The new Australian Prime Minister is a misogynist...

I've already known this for a long time, seeing this is the guy who attacked our former Prime Minister not for her politics, but because she was a woman. Here's a selection of his quotes on women to give you an idea what we're going to have to live with for the next few years

  • ‘The problem with the Australian practice of abortion is that an objectively grave matter has been reduced to a question of the mother’s convenience.’

  • ‘I think it would be folly to expect that women will ever dominate or even approach equal representation in a large number of areas simply because their aptitudes, abilities and interests are different for physiological reasons’

  • ‘I think there does need to be give and take on both sides, and this idea that sex is kind of a woman’s right to absolutely withhold, just as the idea that sex is a man’s right to demand I think they are both they both need to be moderated, so to speak’

  • ‘What the housewives of Australia need to understand as they do the ironing is that if they get it done commercially it’s going to go up in price and their own power bills when they switch the iron on are going to go up, every year…’

What a complete let down it must be after having a woman who was so brave and determined to raise the rights and opportunities for women. At least that's how I understood her from the little I've seen of her. Sorry, Violet.

I get most of my news listening to NPR. Yesterday I heard a segment discussing the new Prime Minister. It was about his willingness to turn boatloads of immigrants away. He was described as 'conservative'. That says it all.

I think the conservative bit comes from the 'Divine Right' of Kings. They think that they are God's emissary on Earth because written mythology endorses it

Somehow 'God's' being a MAN entitles all men to be more recognized as exceptional because they have a dick.

No wonder Freud figured we'd have penis envy.
