A local hero of reproductive rights recently passed.

Mr. Robertson was my drivers ed teacher (rules of the road, not the road trips), and he was responsible for our school system adopting a comprehensive sex ed program back in the Fifties!!! By the time I had the class in '75, we knew far more than our parents ever could hope to know as far as birth control, being gay and/or transgendered, abortion. It was very very progressive. And Mr. Robertson sat on the regional Board of Planned Parenthood for many years.

A man. Not a woman. Before it was done by any gender.

He was a great man even without these achievements, but with them, he is in the category of hero IMO.
