Priest walk out of woman's funeral because of her gay daughter

Here's the story

My friend Barbara, the daughter of the deceased woman, was denied communion at her mother’s funeral. She was the first in line and Fr. Guarnizo covered the bowl containing the host and said to her, “I cannot give you communion because you live with a woman and that is a sin according to the church.” To add insult to injury, Fr. Guarnizo left the altar when she delivered her eulogy to her mother. When the funeral was finished he informed the funeral director that he could not go to the gravesite to deliver the final blessing because he was sick.

WTF? Over!

3. The only person who has a reason to question a person taking communion is that person's confessor.

And during a funeral that's not the role of the officiating priest. HIS ROLE IS TO COMFORT THE FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF THE DECEASED If he couldn't do that, he should have informed the family that he wouldn't be able to perform the service & allowed someone else to do it, rather than so out of his way to purposefully embarrass one of the mourners.

He was sick - in a twisted, mentally ill sort of way.

But then again, Catholic priests, bishops, cardinals and the pope all see themselves as intermediaries between us and God.

And that is just not supported in the Bible.

are quitting the church because of this bigotry, right? Well, at least I'm sure no liberal Catholic would ever support an organization like that, right?

You can't be a liberal and a member of a hate group at the same time.

...If we are going to speak as he might understand.

But for me... Fuck you you self-centered piece of shit. I take great GREAT pleasure in knowing that you'll rot someday contrary to anything you believe.

18. It's really kind of biblical, like a story that one might read in the bible.

From the link: It is time for Christians of all stripes to stop and think about the teachings of the Jesus they proclaim to love so deeply and revere so much. I spent twelve years in Catholic school and the Jesus I was told about would never have turned away anyone for any reason and certainly not on the occasion of burying a parent.
