Tried making oat milk..

I wonder if it would taste better as chocolate milk? 🤨

Itís cheaper than buying it but wow making it was messy. My daughterís guinea pig loved the pulp though. I dried it overnight and broke it up with her breakfast.

Any tips for making it more tasty?

1. I failed

I tried it once in my Vitamix, using a basic recipe I found online. It ended up being all slimy and gelatinous and it was a pain to strain b/c I didn't have a nutmilk bag or whatever they call it.

4. I used cheesecloth...

It was like milking a cow, I slowly squeezed for quite some time. It was messy.

Iíll see how it does in my cereal. Iíll make it one more time at least. Iím not a fundie prepper but I do worry about an epidemic forcing Us to shelter at home for an extended time. This would be something good in my arsenal.

Cashew ricotta was pretty good though.

6. I use cashew milk for baking, coffee, and for my CO Kashi cereal or oatmeal with

whatever organic berries, blue, or other. I especially enjoy cashew milk with a touch of vanilla or maple syrup. Imagine it would also enhance oat milk. Thumbs up!

8. I Use This Recipe, It's Someone Else's, So I Can't Take Any Credit

1 cup cashews
4 cups water, plus water for soaking
1 tablespoon agave nectar, honey or maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash of salt

Soak cashews in water overnight, then drain. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

If you make it, let me know how you like it.

13. I've made cashew cream for cooking.

Might be worth trying cashew milk as well.
