I am so proud of Gardein...

They're constantly coming up with new products. The two new types of hand pockets are very good, and the new Kale and Barley pouches are excellent.

I hope to hell they don't go the direction of some of the other companies who used to do vegan items and sell out to a big corporation. That would suck.

We used to get Wheat Meat from (we think) Ivy Foods, which then went to White Wave, and then got discontinued.

A lot of the Morningstar Farms products which then went to Kellogg's.

So I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Gardein stays wholesome and vegan and good.

1. I'll have to look for those pockets.

I've had their chicken sliders & they were good, although in the future I'll just get the chicken strips & make my own slider. The meatballs are the best! I dissed the fish fillets, said they tasted like the chicken strips only with fish batter. I still think that, but I do like them. The breading is really good.

Got my fingers crossed, too!

2. I remember that conversation.

Were you ever able to find the Old Bay seasoning?

4. No, but my local spice shop has a substitute that is good & they say, very similar.

I also made homemade tartar sauce with Veganise to go with the fillets.

I used to make great tuna salad replacement using garbanzo beans. I 'll have to try that seasoning in it next time I make it.

5. Kelp flakes too.

They are great for giving stuff a fishy flavor

I love tartar sauce. I like to dip my french fries into it.

3. My husband loves the fish...

I'm very fond of it, too.

Of course it's been 30 years since I had fish, so you could probably serve me fruit leather and tell me that's what it tastes like and I'm likely to believe it.
