Cut my own hair yesterday!Last edited Mon Nov 5, 2018, 10:32 AM - Edit history (2)
I used the instructions from this website: http://sherylcanter.com/wordpress/2009/09/easy-way-to-cut-your-own-hair-in-a-curly-bob/
It only took about 10 minutes! I saved a ton of time and money and I won't go back to a salon. Ever! (I'm also growing out the grey. I'm at about the 4 week point.) Do you cut your own hair too? [img] ![]()

33. Had a restless night. Mb I did too much during the day. Things piling up.
Opted to stay put yesterday. Will see urgent care later today or tomorrow. The aching last night eased up. The ER should've given me some pain meds. It's said that's how they're being lately. I blame the unmentionable in the oval office for EVERYTHING bad. Even my dilemma. And I don't care!
Grateful for your kindness and concern. 💙 |

32. Had a restless not good night, but now eased up some.
My PCP docs left and the practice has one new one. Not taking new patients at this time.
![]() Will go to the urgent care in our insurance loop. The hospital ER said I could come back there. $$$. Sure. I appreciate your good thoughts, violetpastille! [There were those violet pastille candies in a cool tin. I forgot the name?] 💜 |

One benefit of getting older & inheriting my dad's bald-on-top hairline is that I just set my clippers on the shortest setting & shave it off every 6 weeks or so. I figure I save a ton on shampoo & lots of time blow drying. Plus it's a lot cooler in the Florida heat! |

I cut my husband's and my daughters hair also. Haircuts have gotten really expensive, $50 dollars for a woman's cut is pretty much the beginning price where I live. But the result is pretty meh and they seem to always play crummy new country.

14. I've been cutting my own hair for a decade.
Every time I cut it again someone compliments me and then are amazed when I tell them I did it myself.
You did a great job on your cut! You look rocking! |

26. Wow. Good work!
I wish I could chance cutting my own...but I have a ton of hair and can’t seem to bring myself to let it go grey yet. Maybe when my kiddo is out of high school. 😏 I go to my stylist/colorist every six weeks. Hey, im a job creator! 😉

27. Very nice! I do cut my own
on occasion but would rather someone else do it... usually a trusted friend. But my hair is about three ft. long so it's not hard to deal with like it would be if it were short. Even with long hair, I don't spend a lot on shampoos and such, I spend about $60/yr on such things. When I can't brush it anymore is when I'll be keeping it short but not until then.

I didn't know that it was possible to cut your own hair that well! As a man who always has a high fade, I'm not too confident mine would turn out as well! And my face isn't as pretty as your's! 😂

35. Flashing back to 1969, Woodstock
Other than a few years, I've cut my own hair, probably badly to very badly, but as a computer guy that added credibility. Mostly it's just chopping an inch or two off my pony tail when the split ends make combing my hair to make the pony tail too painfull.
When some coworkers tried to remake my life, I found getting a cut pleasant with the wash, the comb and cut, plus the cutter explained what she was doing, the layered cuts and such. I don't have the patience to even try anymore. But hey, my hair and beard reinforces my now aging curmudgeon image. But you did a great job! Do you think about how you made some worker poorer, like I do when I think about all the people I don't pay to keep up appearances? |

36. You did a great job.
You’d look good though even if it had been choppy.
I’ve never even trimmed bangs well, but I’ll follow you link and give it serious thought. I think I need clever lines of a stylist to have a flattering hair cut though. It’s the hair color that’s a bigger expense and hassle. I like mixed colors, not one-color dies. |

38. I've been cutting my own hair for about 20 years now...
I got tired of getting a bad haircut every time I got it cut. I decided to get a set of clippers and do it myself. The cut is every bit as good as any I'd get at a barber shop or salon, and it's free. My wife does trim around my ears and the back of my neck, so I suppose it's a team effort.
