Obama's TPP Deal Will Completely Destroy His Legacy

Pushing TPP will do for Obama's legacy what pardoning Mark Rich did for Clinton's.

Probably worse.

I wonder if he cares......

1. Just like the Keystone decision once threatened to "destroy" Obama's legacy?

Or the hundred other times the RW insisted such and such would "destroy" Obama.....yet his job approva has been as steady as a rock for years and 4 to 5 times that of Congress.

At least there is a tacit admission there is a legacy, which there clearly is....a huge legacy....5% unemployment, for starters?

The "this is the one" cry is getting tired, although coming from the LW it is something new!

Know what, the cries all end up the same way....destroyed by actual events.

2. Actually Approving Keystone Would Have Severely Damaged His Legacy

I am not crying wolf.

I am just pointing out the obvious.

3. A lot of folks are crying wolf, and when there is no wolf, they just cry again....I, as one of the

villagers having to hear these false cries, I choose not going to the rescue of the always wrong wolf-criers any more.

4. The average citizen barely knows who the VP is,

they don't know, don't care, don't think about things that do not have a substantial, direct and immediate impact on them personally. Legacies are painted with broad, glowing brush strokes, and just like NAFTA, it will not be much more than a footnote in history.

This deal stinks, and many others feel the same way.

Worse than NAFTA.

8. My biggest fear is that the TPP deal WON'T destroy his legacy.

That it will destroy America, and nobody will connect the dots back to the man who drove the bus off the cliff.

9. Does anyone really care about the legacy of a President?

It's really no different than when they're in office. If you like them, agree with them, or are in the same party, they're basically fine, and time will smooth any edges. If you don't like them, disagree with them, or are in a different party, they're basically terrible, and time will only reinforce your dislike/hatred/etc.

10. Actually, I think his legacy is already gone.

It was done in by drones, Hellfire missiles, and that AC130 Spectre strafing an NGO hospital...
TPP will hardly be noticed.
