Next winter to spring it will climb even higher than it did this year. in 4 or 5 years it will be above 400 all year round.

Up from spring to summer...down in fall and winter as the deciduous trees go dormant and all trees drop in their carbon scrubbing actions. Even evergreens slow a bit in winter.

Meanwhile, the forests keep burning at ever faster rates, and we keep cutting down trees at an accelerating pace.

There are many many acres of land supporting plants which are grown in the Spring and Summer, and then cut down in the Autumn.

Less time than that, I would say...

At this point, CO levels are increasing at the rate of about 2.25 ppm each year.


So, I'd say in another year or two, we can wave a fond farewell to readings below 400 ppm.
