Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum said in Illinois on Monday that he was not concerned about the unemployment rate because it wasnt the governments duty to create jobs.
I dont care what the unemployment rates going to be, he continued. Doesnt matter to me. My campaign doesnt hinge on unemployment rates and growth rates. Its something more foundational thats going on. We have one nominee who says he wants to run the economy. What kind of conservative says that the president runs the economy? What conservative says Im the guy, because of my economic experience, that can create jobs?

The only thing he cares about is your sex life. Doesn't matter if you have a job or not.

If this guy gets anywhere near being elected we are so fucked as a country.
If his IS elected, kiss your ass goodbye.

(15,882 posts)a media campaign designed to attract working class people who see in his moral positions a strong father figure, the way the world would be if it weren't for stinking progress. Business free of regulation, men make the reproductive decisions, poverty exists because of defective people. They are building an organization of like-minded Christians.
They don't care if they run, or ruin, this country.
If they win the presidency (people thought Reagan was a clown and Bush an idiot) great. If they don't they can still win by blocking anything being done for the next decade or more in a variety of venues.
Lakoff talks about a slow building campaign, stretching from your local school board to the Presidency, here, which would explain his saying the things that TODAY maybe couldn't get him elected. But 4 or 8 years of watching America circle the drain, and they might have a shot.
