'Liberate' Venezuela from Maduro, urges Bolsonaro ally

Brazil’s incoming foreign minister says leftist leader is not invited to inauguration

The incoming foreign minister under Brazil’s far-right president-elect, Jair Bolsonaro, has called on the international community to unite to “liberate” Venezuela from the rule of its authoritarian leftist leader, Nicolás Maduro.

Ernesto Araújo, a pro-Trump climate change sceptic, made the appeal on Sunday as he announced that Maduro was not being invited to Bolsonaro’s inauguration next month “out of respect for the Venezuelan people”.

“Maduro has no place at a celebration of democracy,” Araújo tweeted. “All of the world’s countries must stop supporting him and come together to liberate Venezuela.”

The start of Bolsonaro’s four-year term on 1 January portends a fractious new phase in relations between Brazil and its crisis-stricken northern neighbour.

Most of the "opposition" parties have platforms very similar to the Democratic Party in the United States. You would be hard pressed to find a mainstream political party that DJT would be welcome in.

Could it be that Maduro and the PSUV are outside the mainstream?

Pinochet was a very right wing dictator. Traitor Trump would have loved him. The right wing in South America is just as bad as Traitor Trump...maybe worse.

The legally elected President Allende, whom Pinochet (with the help of Kessinger) murdered, was a socialist. The murdered President was very similar to Maduro and both parties are very liberal and hated by uber capitalist kings everywhere.

Allende's rule? I don't recall hearing that. Frankly, if Allende was "very similar" to Maduro then the end of his reign couldn't have been so bad.

All those dead bodies washing up on shore. That's what you think was better than a socialist?

Venezuela is the biggest crisis in this hemisphere under the chavista leadership. Venezuela will only begin to improve when chavistas are out of power.
