No more Venezuelan passports

SAIME suspended passport appointments until further notice
Those who have the document expired for more than two years can not renew it, because the extension does not apply in this case

The Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Aliens (Saime) suspended until further notice appointments for the renewal of adult passports, confirmed El Nacional Web .

In recent days the application option for minors was available. However, when you enter the platform in the passport section, it appears that the website is in maintenance.

The Saime currently allows for an extension, but only those who have a passport with a maximum expiration date of two years can opt for it. Those who have the document expired for a longer time, can not complete the process because they must issue a new passport.

Sources of the Saime argue that the suspension of appointments for adults who wish to renew the passport with more than two years of expiration is due to the fact that no material has arrived from Germany for processing.

Twitter users and those who come to the headquarters of Saime in Los Ruices, Caracas, have complained about the measure that, they claim, is a violation of the Constitution, because it is a right to obtain their identification document.

So far, the Saime has not given official information on the suspension and reactivation of appointments.

End of the line? No passports from Germany also means no new Bolivar notes from Germany. The newly approved One Million Bolivar Note won't be delivered anytime soon, if Maduro doesn't pay up. Germany takes cash on the barrel-head from Chavismo, not credit.
