Colombian Drug Dealer Sought By Interpol Captured In Venezuela
CARACAS, March 17 (BERNAMA-NNN-AVN) -- The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) captured Sunday in the town of Camaguan, Guarico state, Colombian Arlet Sanchez Paz, 53, alleged drug trafficker, wanted by the International Police (Interpol) and the United States.
The commander of Zone 34 of the GNB, Brigadier General Reyzner Rojas Omana, announced the arrest at a press conference, noting that Sanchez Paz was captured in a bus traveling from Maracay to San Fernando de Apure.
"Thanks to the Centinela operations, issued by the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), we have installed several checkpoints and have patrolled in the local territory, which have enabled us to arrest a lot of people including this drug trafficker," he said.
He explained that officials serving at the checkpoint of Camaguan ordered the unit of public transport to pull over to check passengers, they they realized that there was a Colombian citizen who had temporary ID, so they proceeded to check him out through the Police Information System (SIPOL) and found that he was wanted by Interpol since last year for drug trafficking in the United States.
Rojas mentioned that this is an individual who belongs to the cartel of Los Galianos, whose area of operation is in the Department of Villavicencio in Colombia.
