My guess is that this is the outcome the Clinton campaign had been hoping for but never imagined in their wildest dreams would come so easily."

(16,950 posts)Yes! It's about time he's being challenged on the most rudimentary process questions, especially those that comprise his ENTIRE platform. This is a very apt description of what is happening now about framing. He no longer gets to frame on his ideology only. Now come the process questions and he is out of his element. Thank you, New York!!

Just as saying "don't think of an elephant" cannot help but make the listener think of nothing but an elephant, saying "Hillary Clinton is not qualified" can't help but make people think of qualifications, and Hillary Clinton's strength as the qualifications candidate. Putting a "no" before a frame does not negate that frame; it reinforces it

(24,396 posts)Fawning, softball questions like, "from whence cometh thy impressive momentum?"
That interview was his opportunity to lay out the substance behind the talking points. The chance to show that even if he had a different prescription for fixing things, said prescription was grounded in sound research, numbers and well-considered policies.
But there is no "there" there. It's all surface-level bromides, generalized crap along the lines of "people should be nicer" and "everyone deserves a fair shake." Fine, it makes people feel good to hear that, but what does it mean?
Now - like a disorderly, spoiled child whose hand has been caught in the cookie jar - he's complaining that "that bad person made me do it" in trying to explain away the words that he spat from his mouth calling Hillary Clinton unqualified to be POTUS. Projecting his own weaknesses on another and trying to blame them for pointing out his weaknesses.
He should apologize and slink away from the campaign trail, today. He's done, Bernt to a crisp by his own playing with matches and a tank of "pure" gasoline.
