Why a smart woman should vote for Hillary Clinto

Why a smart woman should vote for Hillary Clinton

...................My answer is pretty simple: Clinton is arguably the most qualified presidential candidate of the last several cycles. That she is female is frosting on the electoral cake. What strong woman with any sense of American history would not see the value of shattering the ultimate glass ceiling as a metaphor for more equity in her own life?

Maybe they think their abortion rights are enumerated and protected. In fact, unfortunately, Roe vs. Wade has always been on the shakiest of legal grounds, a “penumbra of privacy rights,” not specifically mentioned in the Constitution. All it takes to lose those rights is a Republican president, one more appointment to the Supreme Court, and a case or two already in the court’s pipeline. Do we really want to have to fight that one again? No.

Would it be Madeleine Albright’s metaphoric hell for not supporting Clinton? Maybe. So when these women do all they can to wound Clinton (while saying they are feminists), I remind them that it is highly unlikely that America will elect a wild-eyed socialist atheist to the presidency. If you think I’m harsh in this assessment, I’m not alone. The Republican Party, especially the evangelical wing, is praying for a Bernie Sanders candidacy.

Then, there is the national security nexus of issues. In an era of terrorist attacks, do they really think a candidate who wants to gut the military is a good idea? Sanders’ endless and robotic refrain is a sound loop of “eat the rich.” As tasty as that may sound, it’s hardly a strong message to a hostile world.

Don’t the young ’uns know there is no free lunch?

Do they not know that Sanders could do none of what he promises? Don’t they know that socialized health care for all means that half of your check is removed before you ever get it? Don’t they know they’d be taxed to pay for the health care of poor evangelical rednecks they despise? Don’t they know that free college offered to those who didn’t advantage themselves of a free K-12 education will just mean that “college” isn’t really college?

The young socialist revolutionaries are afraid of slow steady change, such as legislation sponsored by a President Hillary Clinton to limit the types of interest rates charged for student loans, which could actually get through a bipartisan Congress. I was once young and wanted everything now, now, now! But I never once talked trash about the women who had gone before me and who supported me in my own federal court battles.[/b....................

I like most of what it says, but I don't like this part.

"Don’t they know they’d be taxed to pay for the health care of poor evangelical rednecks they despise? "

I guess that just sounds really mean spirited to mean. All people deserve good medical care. When you pay tax dollars for anything it is going to support every American, even the ones you don't like on a personal level. That's just fair. I don't think that is a good argument.
