http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/21/opinion/campaign-stops/why-sexism-at-the-office-makes-women-love-hillary-clinton.html?_r=0Interesting piece. For me, it's difficult to excerpt portions from NYT articles without typing out the whole thing first and I am not in the mood to do that right now. My copy paste doesn't seem to want to work. Perhaps it's because I am not a subscriber.
So I recommend clicking on the link directly and seeing for yourself.

Watching a primary election in which an eminently qualified woman long assumed to be a shoo-in for the Democratic nomination faces a serious challenge from an older white guy with exciting ideas, many women my age and older hear something familiar, and personal, in the now-common refrain about Hillary Clinton: I want a woman president, just not this woman president.

(11 posts)I was reading about Clinton's time on the Board of Walmart. Her main goal was to increase the number of female managers--and she looked to be very vocal about it. But what Hillary essentially wants is to bring down the gender barriers so women can also be part of the power structures of a corrupted system. When Walmart was union busting, paying low wages, stealing wages, moving jobs to China, dammit Hillary fought to have female managers be part of the union busting and all of that. In her sphere, when decisions are being made like for example what countries to bomb and destroy--dammit, women should be in those circles deciding who to destroy.
As a society we have become everyday ossified along class lines. We see everywhere podunk countries have great upward mobility rates than the United States. And that class ossification includes younger women who have no hope of upward mobility along with men in their class as they too are saddled with debt, no jobs, and no social connections as actually many richer white females. And yet, everywhere we see Hillary as the ultimate insider making millions off Wall Street for speeches. Yes speeches. One social commentator who eludes me (sorry) said that the United States is turning into a country a mediocre rich ruling the talented underclasses.
The article focuses heavily on professional women. Maybe they are rejecting the corrupted male power centers as they never much of a chance anyway unless they gave up their morals.
Of course too old men like me commenting. Better to hear from younger women why they support Sanders over Clinton.

BUT ... a bit further along in the article, she mentions that for working women with young children, Bernie's message about free university education misses the target. Their children won't be eligible to attend university for years in the future and they need help RIGHT NOW with pre-school education. Paying for private facilities if public facilities are inadequate or unavailable can, in some cases, cost nearly as much as a university education. Hillary has always recognized this.
Bernie's sights are set at the level of people he can eyeball, e.g., young adults and upwards. I think it's telling that we see very few pictures of Bernie interacting with young children. He really doesn't seem all that comfortable with them. His only son spent more time with his mother than he did with Bernie and Jane's children (his stepchildren) were pretty much grown by the time they married.
I think that you should read the whole article, not simply the excerpts posted. It's a very good one.
This is, btw, the Hillary Clinton Group so when you post about her being an 'insider" in a "corrupt system," it is not appreciated here. She is trying to help more women be a part of a system so that it can be changed for the benefit of all.
