Regarding post about Hillary not being able to win without young people...

I responded that Bernie cannot win without enthusiastic support among people of color. Yes, African Americans and Latinos will vote for the Democratic nominee but will they be enthused enough about him to do so in sufficient numbers? Hillary has a much better chance to replicate Obama's success with black voters than Bernie. Her husband has a deep bond with black voters, for example, and was often called "the first black president." He also needs blue collar workers to win--a lot of working stiffs are not going to be happy to hear about his plans to raise taxes when they are already struggling to make it from paycheck to paycheck. Bernie is also going to need people over 29--he isn't going to win with lily white very liberal college students supporting him.

As for people under 29--I think many younger female supporters of Bernie once Hillary is the Democratic nominee will not pass the historic implications of voting for the first female nominated for the presidency by a major party--just as blacks in record numbers supported Obama as a great historic first.

especially one who has gone on record with his dislike of our party. We give him a forum to promise impressionable young people free college and he and his sycophants threaten to destroy our chosen candidate and our party.

In my opinion, the biggest mistake DWS made was agreeing to foster this viper called Sanders.

Wasn't she sort of blackmailed into it by people telling her he would run an in independent?

Naderite crank. He actually is a Naderite crank but the DNC gave him legitimacy. I guess she had to go one way or the other. I feel sorry for her. She has had to deal with his bullshit for months now. At least she know he'll never be nominated.

... it's my belief that he will not continue to identify as a member of the Democratic party. We'll then know the truth (or at the very least, we'll be able to come to some logical and informed conclusions based on the evidence at hand.)

My two granddaughters going to college in Iowa and both caucused for Hillary. I impressed upon them the historical implications of the campaign. Don't rule that out as a force for her.

And let them stay home if they choose. The majority of them will come out to vote for her. She won't need the rest.

I was really surprised to hear Bernie say -and I don't think he walked it back yet- that Americans know our country was founded on fairness.

Because, uh, no, it wasn't. Unless you were a land owning. white. man.

We employed the incremental process written into our govt to achieve increasing fairness, and with progressives that effort continues. The lack of basic understanding of how our country functions is very frustrating.

I haven't even seen him be called on it except on twitter. It was part of his remarks just after IA.

It was good, also, to see that union households went strongly for Hillary, especially after all the noise about "members" really supported Sanders.

I can't help but wonder what all these young people who rally behind Sanders think of President Obama. Most of his demographic has had privilege they don't even seem to recognize, and been raised under a strong media influence. They really don't seem to be able to relate to others unlike themselves well.

It's this selfish attitude that I want everything right now even the glitter that farts all my bills away. They aren't even looking at the down ticket races. I am a person of color and while I may agree with some of what Bernie is proposing I'm not totally sold and don't even get me started on his over zealous stalkers who do everything they can to silence those of us who are even critical of him. This is why I am letting my vote speak for itself on March 15.

BY Hillary's candidacy FROM the full throated attacks from the right. She is the well known and handy target and she holds up under all of it. The right (i.e. Limbaugh)
will trash and discount "that socialist" at levels yet to be seen.

implicit in the Sanders campaign. It's like saying 'kiss Sanders' ass or lose the youth vote'. What rubbish. Bernie is much more thin skinned than Trump. As soon as he gets any criticism of his nonsense platform he and his minions lash out in the most juvenile nasty manner. I started out thinking Bernie was pretty good after the first debate. Now I think he is a single issue ideologue incapable of working with others. The more I see of Bernie the less I like him.
